What made you choose Unleashed Boudoir for your boudoir experience?

After researching a few boudoir photographers in my area, I narrowed down to my top three based on the quality and style of the photos I saw online. I read several reviews for each and really liked that Krista was repeatedly described as comfortable to work with and professional, and created a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.

What was your favorite part of your session?

I really liked not caring that I was barely dressed in front of a person I met the same day. Two people counting the makeup artist. They are so casual about it because they see it so often. I didn't even care that I was the only one wearing almost nothing. They had a job to do and they did it very well.

Were you nervous about your session?

I actually wasn't very nervous for the session. I'd been thinking about doing this for quite some time and was excited to finally follow through on it. With a different photographer, I think I would've gotten nervous after arriving but that never happened. Krista started with a little bit of time just getting to know each other which, I'm certain, helped prevent me from feeling any jitters. She stayed casual and calm throughout the session, too, as she carefully thought through and demonstrated the poses. I had a great experience!

What are you taking away from your boudoir experience?

I didn't need to get boudoir pictures taken to feel good about myself, but documenting that I can look damn good if I want to is a lot of fun.

Would you recommend a boudoir session to your friends?

I absolutely would and have recommended Unleashed Boudoir to my friends.

What do you say to people who say they can't do this because they are too shy, nervous, etc.?

Do it! Once you're there, everything falls into place. You don't have to know what you're doing or be comfortable in front of the camera. Krista takes care of it all and will keep you relaxed. She's so easy going and knows what she's doing. Treat yourself and look like a cover model! It will either reinforce what you already're hot, or let you see yourself that way for the first time. Either way, everyone should see themselves smoking hot at least once in their lifetime.

What made you choose Unleashed Boudoir for your boudoir experience?

My best friend Kayla had booked a session with you and asked if I would be interested. After showing me your work, I knew I had to try it at least one time. Who knew I would be back within the year with my husband!

(Note - those couples images are FIRE!)

What was your favorite part of your session?

My favorite part of both sessions were feeling 100% confident in myself after hair and makeup.

MC008-33 (Large).jpg

Were you nervous about your session?

I was not confident wearing lingerie in front of anyone but my husband, and I had no idea how to pose but Krista walked me through the poses prior. Laughing through the nervousness always helps.

What are you taking away from your boudoir experience?

I am absolutely in love with every photo! I am more confident in myself daily because of the awesome experience!

What do you say to people who say they can't do this because they are too shy, nervous, etc.?

I was nervous too, but Krista makes everything carefree and enjoyable. Time flies by and before you know it, you have beautiful artwork of yourself to show and keep.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Boudoir Experience!

You’ve paid your retainer, picked a date and now the panic sets in. A boudoir session can be a little nervewracking and emotional. It’s ok. I’m here for you! Check out a few tips to help make your day go smoother.

Make sure you’re all ready for hair & makeup

My artist, Drai, is amazing but she appreciates your help before you arrive for your session. Please arrive with a clean face (moisturizer is ok) and clean (dry!) hair. Washing your hair the night before so its a little dirty can help hold curls longer.

If you want want to really amp up your look, consider getting lash extensions for your session! You can reach out to Drai at Concept Hair + Lash Bar (tell her I sent you!)

This may hurt

One of the most common things I hear from clients when we’re done is just how much of a workout a session was. PLEASE believe me when I tell you that stretching before your session is your friend! Drop in for a few yoga classes and get those chakras aligned.

Always bring a bra & panty set

You might think boring but we can make about anything sexy. Plus, in the event the worst case scenario happens (you forget your wardrobe…) we’ve got this!

Speaking of, maybe skip the bra in the morning

Please arrive wearing loose fitting clothes. Tight things (like bras) can leave indentations and marks on the body that become much more noticeable when you aren’t wearing anything.

While we’re on bras…make sure you know your size!

Something like 75% of women wear the wrong size bra. Probably including myself. Our bust size can fluctuate throughout the the month as well (damn hormones) so you make actually need more than one size. Go see my gals at The Bra Spa to get properly fitted. It’ll make a world of difference. Plus we can avoid that awkward moment where I have to tuck your boobs back in.

Like visiting your gyno, visiting your boudoir photographer should include a little care and attention to the nether regions. If you’re prone to razor burn, try out a product to help minimize or skip shaving the day prior. This might a worthy time to try out a wax or sugar if you have sufficient time before your session. You can visit with Tasha at Sugar Lips Skin Boutique to make those pesky hairs go away. She’s like the only sugaring salon in town. I trust my lady bits in her hands.

On the flip side, DO NOT try something new the week before your session.

If you’re doing your own, don’t forget about behind you as well. Hair does grow there. Also, be sure to make sure you give yourself an extra wipe in the morning. No one likes a dingleberry.

What made you choose Unleashed Boudoir for your boudoir experience?

I met Krista at the Wine and Dine night at the Oasis at Wild Horse Ranch. I never had given boudoir a thought, until I saw Krista’s work. Then I knew I wanted to do a shoot with her because of her easygoing, friendly disposition.

What was your favorite part of your session?

Being dressed up in lingerie to feel sexy but also was able to laugh and have fun at the same time.

Were you nervous about your session?

Extremely! I am a very shy person and am very modest. I was put to ease by Krista and Drai (her makeup artist) by how caring, friendly, and understanding they both are.

What are you taking away from your boudoir experience?

After my reveal I was amazed by how beautiful, how sexy Krista made me look! Being nervous is something that passes and once it does it’s a great experience!

Would you recommend a boudoir session to your friends?

What do you say to people who say they can't do this because they are too shy, nervous, etc.?

I was terrified right up until the moment I started posing. But the fear or being nervous goes away because Krista is so easy going and tries to make you as comfortable as possible.

Clients often have lots of questions about their session so I’ve compiled a list of some of the most common.

Do you share my images?

I value my clients and their privacy. All clients will completed a model/privacy release form as part of your booking process. This release form outlines what images as well as where they can be used. This allows you complete control over whether you’re ok with images being used for studio samples or shared on Facebook for grandma (btw - there’s no age limit on boudoir). If you opt not to share, that is perfectly ok and don’t feel like you have to do it.

**Note: I do occasionally run promotions looking to shoot specific themes or looks - the intent of these is for marketing material. These sessions do not include a release as the intent is for the work to be shared. But this is always clearly stated.

Do I have to wear lingerie?

You don’t have to. I’ve had clients do sessions in vintage 30’s gowns, in football jerseys, leather jackets and military pieces. I want you to feel sexy. However, if you are thinking of doing something out of the ordinary, please give me a heads up so we can prepare.

Do you have payment plans?

Oh yes! I have recently introduced pre-session payment plans which allow you to choose your products and pay for them before even showing up for your session (there is a benefit to doing this!). I also am delighted to offer Square Installments which lets you pay your purchase off over 6 or so months. I am phasing out post-session payment plans, but am still currently offering them for purchases over $1500.

Is hair and makeup included?

Absolutely! I believe that every woman deserves some pampering so all of our sessions start with professional hair & makeup to give you a chance to relax. But I promise we're just going for an amp'd up natural look - nothing crazy!

Do you do touch ups?

Yes, we will smooth skin and do some basic retouching on all of your portraits. I tend to work on the philosophy, if it isn't permanent we can remove it - so don't worry about any little blemishes, bruises or scratches.

I do want to stress that I do NOT do any extra photoshopping to give you a bigger booty or a smaller stomach or tinier feet. I think you're gorgeous as is without changes.

Where should I buy outfits?

There are several options for shopping you can find listed HERE.

What type of products do you offer?

Primarily clients are opting towards our gorgeous handcrafted albums. They come with think pages and your choice of luxury covers. We also offer folio print boxes, wall art, desk art, digital collections and other fun gifts.

Do you offer digitals?

Digital files are available A La Carte as well as part of our Luxury collections. You receive 2 sets of files - one intended for printing and the other sized for social media and fun sexting nights!

I'm really nervous. Is that normal?

It is definitely normal to be nervous for your boudoir session, so don't worry. Most of our clients are nervous until the session has gone on for a few minutes. After it starts, you’ll begin to loosen up.  Plus I'm really awesome at being a dork so you'll have plenty to laugh at.

How many outfits should I bring?

Sessions include 3 wardrobe changes. I do recommend bringing more than 3 options just in case something doesn’t fit how we expected or doesn’t photograph well. I also have a client wardrobe you are welcome to borrow from for your session. If you love it, you might just be able to buy it!

How early should I arrive for my session?

While I love the old adage “early is on time, on time is late” I know that sometimes nerves might drive you to arrive really early. Please be advised the studio doors will remain locked until about 10-15 minutes prior to your session. This allows me time to ensure everything is setup and ready for you!

Where are you located?

I am located in Tucson, AZ. I have a lovely little studio just south of downtown in the historic Barrio Viejo are.

February: A To Do

Ok, go put this on your calendar….

On September 1: Schedule boudoir session for Valentine’s Day.

Yes. I’m serious. Let me explain….

You decide you want to give your honeyboo a totally surprise, out of character gift for Valentine’s Day so you decide to do a boudoir session and you want an album. Coolio. Albums, take ~6 weeks to arrive - especially if we factor in the holidays then it can even take a smidge longer.

So Feb 14, backed up min 6 weeks is…Jan 3.

That means you have to have had your reveal AND be paid in full, by Jan 3. Since I take time off over Christmas and New Year’s, let’s make that date a more realistic, Dec 13. Right on. So we back up 2 more weeks because it takes about a week or so to edit and then a week for the star—-er schedules to align - Nov 29. Well that’s Black Friday and we’ll be closed for Thanksgiving…so Nov 21 it will be. That means your session has to happen no later than Nov 21 in order to receive an album for Valentine’s Day.

I know it seems crazy, but it really isn’t. And if we need to split up payments at all, back that booty up.

Plus, with the way scheduling is going - my calendar is filling about 3 months in advance so for the prime pick of dates, do it early.

So off you go. Tell Alexa or Google to put a reminder on your calendar.

Also, looking ahead to the next few months:

March - 2 sessions remaining

April - 4 sessions remaining

May - 3 sessions remaining

PrePayment Options

Let’s celebrate!

New in 2019! A prepayment for products! *Happy Dance*

I hope this helps with the savers among you to secure your date while being able to pay for your products early. Think about it - you can arrive at your session completely paid for your product! No stressing.

So how is this going to work?

Payment options will be offered on collections only. At least for now. If this option goes well, we could consider expanding to a la carte products as well.

You’ll decide what collection you are interested in first. If you’re unsure, I suggest pre-purchasing only what you are comfortable with price wise. Collections start at $2000 and go up but you are welcome to add on at your reveal.

We’ll set up a recurring payment in Square so that you will be charged automagically each month. In general, I’d probably suggest starting this 6 months prior to your session so you have plenty of time to save. This is a great time to remind you that all prepayments are nonrefundable. So again, only purchase what you are comfortable with. However, you can always upgrade at your reveal when you see all your amazing images.

Also do note, as this is a recurring payment it is expected that it will be charged without issue. If for some reason the payment is declined, I will reach out for an additional form of payment (because, let’s face it, these days we cycle through cards due to fraud semi regularly and I can’t always remember what is on what until it gets charged). You will have a finite period of time to respond with a working payment. If you fail to respond, your payment plan is null & void. Non-refundable. The time frames will be outlined in an agreement that will be provided and signed, so you can’t tell me you didn’t know.

If you need to reschedule your session, your payment will travel with you, but again, if you cancel, non-refundable.

Since this is becoming an option, that means changes are coming to post session payment options. While I’m not doing away with them completely, there will be a minimum purchase to enable that option.

As always - do bring a payment method with you to your reveal because chances are you’re going to love so many more images than you thought that you’ll want to upgrade!

If you already have your session booked and you want to consider this option, drop me an email:

What made you choose Unleashed Boudoir for your boudoir experience?

I was asked if I wanted to do a model call for Unleashed for some new outfits she had and wanted to shoot. I was very excited.

What was your favorite part of your session?

I do not have just 1 favorite part. From the moment you walk into the studio you feel at ease and welcome. Getting a gorgeous makeover with hair included was an added bonus. I felt so beautiful.

MC005-25 (Large).jpg

Were you nervous about your session?

Anytime you do a shoot like boudoir I think most of us are nervous or more self conscious. Krista does a great job at capturing our beauty there is nothing to be nervous about.

What are you taking away from your boudoir experience?

I have done 2 of these sessions now and I take away that the photos do not even look like me. I love how she captures our more vulnerable and sensual side in these photos. The first time I saw my photos I was in awe that that was me in those photos. It is such a great feeling to see yourself and realize how other people see you and how truly beautiful we all are!

MC005-63 (Large).jpg

Would you recommend a boudoir session to your friends?

I would and do recommend boudoir sessions to everyone.

What do you say to people who say they can't do this because they are too shy, nervous, etc.?

There is no need to be shy, nervous or insecure. Krista is amazing, the studio is private and inviting. Have fun with it. The more fun you have the better the photos turn out!

The Fabulous Rori!

(Pssttt there’s some nudity below. So if you’re at work, or you work for Facebook, don’t scroll down!)

Rori is another of my outstanding 2018 Brand Ambassadors and she wrote this blog post just for all of you, so enjoy!

Sexy is not something I generally “do”. I’m not much for satin and lace...or so I thought!

Modesty isn’t really my issue. As a swim instructor and pole sport competitor/coach, I’ve gotten used to spending the bulk of my days in bathing suits and skimpy sports bras.

Lingerie and glamour, on the other hand, intimidated me. So when I finally decided to take the plunge and schedule a boudoir shoot with one of Arizona’s top #boudoirphotographers I was excited to push out of my comfort zone.

ROri 1.jpg

The day of my shoot, I arrived early to the studio to meet Krista and her hair and make up-artist. The pampering treatment made me feel a like a princess, while I relaxed and enjoyed a glass of wine (yay for wine in the morning—a rare delicacy for a mom!) Since I didn’t have any fancy lingerie of my own, Krista styled me in some hand selected pieces from her extensive  collection. She was thorough in posing and guiding me, and her relaxed and happy vibe made me feel like I was hanging with an old bff. To my surprise I felt really comfortable and at ease, (except for the back arching—even for a seasoned power athlete like myself, arching and angling yourself into camera- flattering positions was not so comfortable lol. Touché Tyra Banks, you were right, modeling really ain’t easy). Not too long after my session wrapped up, I received a sneak peak photo from my session.

The photo was so beautiful I couldn’t believe my eyes! Krista has a gift for helping her clients unleash their inhibitions. Her ability to coax out your inner-vixen and capture it oh-so-perfectly is unparalleled. A boudoir session with her is an experience of a lifetime. Do it!

Let's Get Lost Together - Ms A - Phoenix Boudoir

I met Ms A at a bridal event earlier this year and my fearless assistant convinced her that she should ignore the quizzical looks of her coworkers (she was working the event too!) and sign up for a session.  I'm pretty certain she's glad she did!

Tucson Boudoir Introduces Ms J

Ms J is a recent Tucson convert from Oklahoma.  She loves being active and outdoors - which is a great fit for Arizona!  When she's not working as a dental hygienist she's hanging with her daughter and boyfriend.

In her words:

My sister did a boudoir shoot a couple years ago and showed me her pictures, and I thought that she looked amazing and it made her feel more confident with herself. I have thought about doing a boudoir shoot ever since her experience. Now I am at a point in my relationship where we have gotten comfortable and I am wanting to do a shoot to regain self-confidence and to rekindle a fire in my relationship.

"I want to remember that I am beautiful regardless of a few extra pounds and some stretch marks.  I find my personality to be what makes me beautiful. I am caring and often think of others needs before my own."

If you want to unleash your sexy side and find some extra confidence, I encourage you to reach out so we can plan an amazing session!

Ms A Unleashed - Tucson Boudoir

I met Ms A through a mutual friend (at a Pure Romance party!) and I was so excited when she decided to book a session with me!

She is 25 and is an aspiring Project Manager.  We had a lot of fun during her session which was mostly a gift for her but a little bit of her boyfriend.  Since she tells me he's the man of her dreams I'm fully expecting her to be back to shoot a grooms gift in the near future.

In her words...

I am really intrigued with how beautiful and free everyone looks in these photos. I want to see the sexy side of myself (I’m not usually the forward/controlling type).

5 Questions About A Boudoir Session!

How do I know how to pose?

Don’t worry about posing. I've totally got you covered in that department. I know lots of tricks to create the most flattering angles for you, no matter what shape or size you are.  I also will demonstrate the foundational pose and general gist of what I want you to do.

Do your packages include hair and makeup?

Absolutely!  I believe that every woman deserves some pampering so all of our sessions start with professional hair & makeup to give you a chance to relax.  But I promise we're just going for an amp'd up natural look - nothing crazy!

Am I allowed to bring alcohol to help loosen my nerves?

As long as you're over 21, I have no issue with a pre-shoot drink. We do offer champagne, wine or beer at your session to help you relax.  Plus we've got non-alcoholic stuffs too.

 Do you provide the wardrobe?

Yes & No.

No - I prefer that you provide your own wardrobe.  I want something you like, that is meaningful to you.

Yes - I do have a studio wardrobe that you're welcome to pull from or we can supplement what you brought.  If you are interested in using it, please do let me know so I can pull some items for you.

Have you met Ms M?

I met Ms M at a bridal expo here in Tucson and I was so excited to have her in front of my camera.  She had these eyes I didn't want to stop looking at.

She was getting married and wanted to do something special for her fiance.  She also wanted to show herself that she was as sexy as he says she is.

I think we can agree that she is definitely as sexy as he thinks.

Avoid these Boudoir Faux Pas During your Session

The last thing you want is to be worried about not being ready for your session!  Keep these tips in mind as you're preparing so that we can have a fabulous session together!

Bad Tan Lines/Sunburn – If you have not been tanning recently, don’t tan just before your session. You can get sunburn or really bad tan lines, which are not flattering in photos. Also avoid spray tans at all cost, as they tend to photograph poorly.  I don't do extra fixing for tan lines!

Getting drunk at your session – If you are nervous about your session, it’s OK to have a glass of wine to rest your nerves. That said, don’t get wasted before or during your session. This is one of the worst things you can do. Your eyes will be bloodshot and droopy and it’s just a recipe for disaster.  I limit you to 1 drink and I would highly suggest not enjoying any pre-session drinking.  You will regret it.

Choosing the wrong sized outfits – Choose lingerie that is just the right size for you. You don’t want loose lingerie that gives your body no shape or hides your beautiful curves. On the other hand, lingerie that is too tight can be unflattering.  Try on everything you are thinking of bringing.  Does it pinch?  Bunch?  Does it give you weird lumps?  Then I'd suggest you reconsider.  If you're stuck, remember I have a studio wardrobe that we can use! Just bring a nude and a black thong with you so we keep things sanitary.

Heavy Makeup – This one isn't normally an issue because we include hair and makeup in our sessions.  But sometimes we might run a special that doesn't include it.  In those cases, I strongly recommend getting a makeup artist for your session. You don’t want to slather the makeup on too thickly. It’s more about accentuating your natural features and making you feel – and look – stunning.

Forgetting to shave/wax – Always remember to shave or wax any exposed area (this also includes your crack ;-) ) that needs to look smooth and sexy. The ‘au naturel’ look is so ‘70s. Unless you’re going for that vibe, please remember this tip.

Sam Q - A Brand Ambassador Goodbye!

Because I'm often suffering from writing blocks, writing blogs is a huge chore for me and as a result, I missed out on sharing this babe's images with you.  Sam signed up to be on of my 2018 Brand Ambassadors but took a job out of state and moved at the beginning of June.  While she's still repping me over in Texas, she can't quite fulfill all her duties here in Tucson.

Why do you think you'd be an awesome Brand Ambassador?

I was always very passionate about women empowerment in college and I'm active on social media. I believe in the message you convey and want to take away any negative stigma associated with boudoir to show people how beautiful it is.

Tell me a bit about yourself.

I'm a pretty social person. I like going dancing and hanging out with my friends either at game nights or downtown. I'm just now learning and expanding my knowledge about being sexy and learning to love myself so I want to share that.

I actually met Sam through work (my day job) and we hit it off early on.  She even took me dancing at the now-defunct Denim & Diamonds.  Granted I'm not much of a two-stepper, she's pretty damn good and I imagine she'll be enjoying the Texas nightlife soon.

An Adventure in Couples

A few months back I decided to take on a bit of a challenge.  At the request of a previous client, I popped my couples cherry AND my BDSM couples cherry.  Cuz if you're going to go big, go really big!  I think it is best shared by the subjects in question.  Read on...

I am not sure many of you know about the adventure I took recently. Krista took on a project that was new for her and pushed the limit of her skills. My Husband and I were her first couples shoot. Here is the journey from a male's perspective. It's a bit of a read :)

A Dominant’s Perspective on a Boudoir Photography Session

My memory is a bit fuzzy on how it started. Like most couples, my sub and I took pictures of our excursions, to share with friends and family. Geocaching in the Dragoons. Hand Grenades in New Orleans. Nights at the opera, a visit to the Air and Space museum.

Later, we hired a close friend to take our engagement pictures at an abandoned greyhound track.

So when my sub mentioned that she had met a boudoir photographer and was interested in having a couple’s shoot, I didn’t voice any concerns. After all, it’s easier to agree to something if there isn’t any sort of deadline. Ladies, take note.

Weeks passed, and I noticed that my sub was requesting more and more time to spend with her friend Krista, the elusive photographer. Eventually, my sub showed samples of her work; it was simply stunning and made me reconsider what I had tentatively agreed to. This went far beyond playing dress up and posing. What I saw in those pictures was raw emotion, a piece of someone’s most vulnerable side exposed and captured to perfection. Their nature and essence immortalized in high-definition format.

We met up with Krista for drinks and to discuss what the shoot would entail. I’ll admit to being a bit apprehensive, as I’m not one to trust easily. That goes double when the topic involves the relationship with my sub and my sexual preferences. Krista, fortunately, made it easy. She explained that she was looking to start doing couple shoots and asked if my sub and I would be willing to help develop some new techniques. Her attitude, somewhere between easygoing professional and carefree artist, won me over. I picked a date for the shoot, several months out to give myself some time to prepare.

Let’s be honest: at forty-one, I’m a bit past my prime. I started out by hitting the gym more aggressively, often up to 6 times a week. My sub introduced more meal replacement shakes into her diet, and I followed suit by limiting my sugar intake. After a couple months of lifting, watching my diet, and a regimen of supplements, I felt strong.

However, as the deadline approached, I realized that I had neglected to prepare myself emotionally. I am not what most members of the BDSM community would consider a “traditional Dominant”. I don’t bark orders, rule through fear, or humiliate. It is not enough to believe that you should be served; one must strive to show that they are worthy of service. To me, the bondage and sexual elements are only a small part of our relationship. Important, but not as much as the sense of mutual respect and dedication. I wasn’t sure how to convey this to Krista. Photography naturally places an emphasis on the physical realm; it takes real skill to convey true emotion as well.

On the day of the shoot, I settled on a dark suit (yes, a bit cliché but I’m comfortable wearing one) and a simple pair of jeans with a white t-shirt. My sub packed a few suitcases worth of outfits and shoes. From my collection, I picked a few favorites: a double loop flogger, a crop, a nice bullwhip (just for show), handcuffs, manacles, and some stocks that I had made from leopardwood.

I was impressed with Krista’s small but elegant studio, which offered a variety of backgrounds, textures, furniture, and lighting options. I set to rigging up a hook in the ceiling and running some chain while my sub got her make up done in the other room. It was also a great opportunity to talk with Krista about what she was looking for, and how my sub and I usually interact. One thing that I wasn’t comfortable with was the term “scene”. To me, a scene implies something staged, something inherently false. What I do with my sub isn’t acting, it is very real. She suffers because pain brings a sense of tranquility. She suffers because it pleases me. And on very rare occasions, she suffers because her behavior requires it.

It was initially difficult for me to strike a balance between accurately representing our lifestyle and giving Krista some good material to work with. Fortunately, she’s a pro, and was able to work around me while making some suggestions that would yield a better picture. Eventually, I got used to the occasional pause, shifting positions, changing implements and restraints. My sub took it all in stride and provided the emotional element that is so critical to good art. We learned to improvise, and even though it didn’t quite qualify as a real pain session, it was fun. My sub and I left the studio physically and emotionally exhausted, but content.
A few weeks later, we gathered in the studio again for the reveal. Krista presented us with a nice variety of packages, which included choices for an album or pieces of wall art. She had already done a great deal of work, reducing thousands of images down to a hundred or so for us to choose from. This proved to be much harder than I had anticipated, as every one of them was excellent. We opted for a leather-bound album of about 40 pictures, and a gorgeous piece of metallic wall art.

Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing. The process was physically and emotionally draining, but Krista’s work turned out to be priceless. She was able to capture the true nature of our relationship, from a perspective that I couldn’t have seen any other way. Each photo represents a unique facet of our relationship, for us to reflect on and appreciate as we continue our journey together.

Say Hello To Brand Ambassador Sam G!

Sam is one of my amazing ambassadors for 2018!  She's actually 1 of 2 Sam's that are Ambassadors!  She's originally from California but moved here (yay!) to pursue her schooling and career in the veterinary field.

She considers herself and old soul and enjoys retro & older things.

"I've always been fascinated with boudoir photography and have never had the courage to do it. i always told myself, it's not the right time, I'm not thin enough to do it. As I got older I came to realize that it will never be "the right time" I finally decided to do it because I'm starting to fall back in love with myself. I'm finally becoming more and more comfortable with who I am in my own skin. I would like to empower other women who aren't "super model standard" that you can do anything you want as long as you love yourself."

"I want to remember the current mindset that i have, self love always comes first. Don't let anyone tell you your worth, just because you aren't their form of beautiful, you should think that you are your own kind of beautiful."

Why did you want to be an Ambassador?

I have become an ambassador to help spread the message of self love and confidence. And why the heck not!

How To Find The Right Boudoir Photographer

So you've decided you want to get some boudoir photos done.  Whether for you (its always for you) or for a gift (which is really for you), you want to be comfortable with the photographer you're taking your clothes off with.  Err...for.  Mine stay on.

First thing you need to decide is male or female.

This is really a personal choice.  You should also consider your significant other's feelings on the matter.  I know some guys who would not be happy with their SO and a male photographer.  So start there.  Men and women are going to have very different perspectives of you.  Neither are wrong, simply different.

Now, your budget.

Like everything, there's a WIDE expanse of price points.  Examine your potential photographer's portfolio closely and ensure there is consistency among what they are showing.  Also be sure you understand what is included in your session.  Some photographers include hair and makeup.  Others sell images separately.  Read the details carefully and ask questions if you are unsure.  I'd rather get asked a ton of questions upfront than have an unhappy client after the fact.

Are you two peas in a pod?

Read through the photogs website and social media.  Do they sound like someone you'd be comfortable with?  You don't have to be besties and you don't have to agree with everything but you should at least feel like you can get through a drink together without a ton of weird silence.

Is the style you want?

Some photographers are light & airy shooters.  Other's are dark & moody.  Some like color, some like black & white.  Again, check out your prospective photogs portfolio.  If you love the light, bright images and their portfolio is filled with moody dark images you will probably walk away unhappy.  Do you like superposed images or something a little more fluid?  Full body or lots of detail?  Do your research.

What happens to your images?

I honestly don't know a photographer who has a hard and fast rule on client image usage*.  For example, I have all my clients fill out a privacy policy that outlines what images I can use and where I can use them.  Some are cool with all their images used anywhere, others only want non-identifiable images on my website.  I understand that sometimes you might want to spread your joy far and wide but maybe your job doesn't really allow for that.  Or maybe this is a special gift for your spouse and you only want him to see.  Understand the usage of your images.

(*many photographers will run model calls or portfolio updates where they offer a complimentary or discount session in exchange for use of your images.  Again, read the details.)
