What is Boudoir?

A boudoir is a lady's private bedroom, sitting room or dressing room.

The term boudoir is derived from the French verb bouder, meaning "to be sulky" or boudeur, meaning "sulky".  Maybe sultry is a more appropriate translation?

The idea of boudoir photography is not new at all.  These days boudoir is generally referring to the photography style which ranges from clothed to full nude portraits. (And I bet you were thinking you couldn't be clothed and still call it boudoir, weren't you?)

Some people decide to have a boudoir session just because, some people are looking for something special for a loved one, maybe you're celebrating a special occasion or achievement.  When you schedule a session with me, I'll ask you your motivation for purchasing a session, but trust me, "because I felt like it" is a perfectly acceptable response.

Probably the most common thing heard from women considering a boudoir session is "I should lose 10 lbs first."  Honey, it doesn't matter what you weight.  You're beautiful today and you should go click that contact button and send me an email!
